Savio is a new community on Heron Club Drive in Delray Beach, studios through three bedrooms, run by Bozzuto.

For a dog the layout is the point. A tree-lined central park runs down the middle of the site with the pool deck and playground on one side and a fenced dog park on the other, and a walking trail rings the whole perimeter, so the first walk of the day never has to leave the property. Better still is what is over the fence: the 25-acre Delray Oaks Natural Area, a genuine piece of protected Florida hammock rather than a landscaped strip.

The rest is what you would expect at this end of the market: a resort-scale pool with a beach entry and a hot tub, a pavilion with grills and outdoor dining, a double-height clubhouse lobby, lounges and a bar opening onto a shaded terrace, a second-floor fitness centre and yoga studio, co-working space, a kids' zone, carports and detached garages, mail and parcel rooms.

The on-site team accepts packages, guarantees maintenance within 24 hours and runs resident events, pet events among them. Dogs are welcome and there is a limit on how many per apartment plus a pet fee, so confirm the current terms with the office rather than with any listing site.
