Lake Ida Dog Park, Delray Beach
County-run, sunrise to sunset, split at 30 pounds, and shut every Thursday lunchtime for maintenance.
Thursday at noon
The county closes this park every Thursday from noon to 3 pm. It is not posted anywhere you would see it from the road. Plan the Thursday walk around it or take the day at the beach end of town.
What the county actually asks for
This is an unsupervised park, and the rules read that way: leash on going in and coming out, leash in your hand the whole time you are inside, two dogs per person, no puppies under four months, current vaccinations and licence tags, and you clean up. There are cameras.
The two-dog limit is the one that surprises people who arrive with three.
Thirty pounds is the line
Large area is 30 pounds and over, small is under. Unlike the Boca parks there is no middle pen, so a 35-pound dog goes in with the big ones.
What we do here
We run free dog photo sessions in Delray Beach parks and publish dog-only frames. Owners and bystanders are framed out; a frame with a recognisable person is cropped or dropped at review. Owners get their dog's files free.
